My private psychotherapy & supervision practice has been established for over 30 years. Over that period I have taught and given talks on numerous psychotherapy & counseling courses, at national and international conferences and for the general public. I have also published many articles & several books.
I have great faith in the transformative potential of psychotherapy, in its capacity to radically change how we feel about ourselves and the world around us. This often means negotiating a new relationship with our own past so we can live more fully in the present. Clinically I work in a very flexible way, adapting my technique and time-scale according to individual need. Some clients want psychotherapy for a few sessions; others come once a week for a longer period. With others I work intensively 2-5 times weekly over a period of years.
I have worked in a number of pioneeering counselling and psychotherapy projects in the public sector. I qualified from The Guild of Psychotherapists as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in January 1985. Since 1990 I have taught on and been involved in organizing that training.
I enjoy supervising students and colleagues. I also have a great deal of editorial experience and am happy to help with writing & teaching projects.
